Awana Program Sees Growth And Raised Over $2,000

Awana is nearing the end of another successful year! With 50 children and teens along with 15 leaders each week, our club has seen growth in numbers as well growth in the spiritual development of our participants. Our goal is to disciple children and youth utilizing Scripture memory, large group lessons, and fun games. Throughout the year we focus on teaching clubbers how to apply Scripture that has been memorized, learning about long term missions, and providing opportunities to serve as missionaries close to home. Awana  partnered with Welcome Home ministries in the fall and we will finish our year with a food drive. We recently completed our annual Verse-A-Thon. This event gives clubbers and parents a chance to see just how much Scripture each student has learned. Collecting pledges for the numbers of verses recited makes for an exciting evening! This year, 35 clubbers recited 1347 verses and raised over $2000 for Awana in Central America. This funding will allow 200 children to spend four years in an Awana club, hearing and responding to the gospel! We will end our year in May with a celebration of all the hard work our students have displayed this year.
