Gathering 139

For our children, milestones are like magical moments, when something significant takes place. It is our goal to help parents feel equipped to walk through these life-changing moments with their kids in the best way possible. Gathering 139 does just that; it is our process for infant and child baptisms and presentations (ages 0-6). We recognize that the sacrament of baptism, and presentations, are a celebration in itself, so Gathering 139 is an extension of that celebration.

Gathering 139 is derived from Psalms 139:14 which says: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” This is a time for parents, family, and friends to celebrate the gift that each child is. Coming alongside your child and letting them know you noticed, family and friends noticed, and God noticed, will help them realize that what is happening really does have meaning.

Gathering 139 has four simple steps for parents to follow:

  1. Sign up here and attend The First Meeting
  2. Complete three short homework sessions online.
  3. Families and their guests attend Gathering 139
  4. The children will be baptized or presented during services on a reserved Sunday after Gathering 139. If your family cannot attend the reserved Sunday, another date can be arranged through the Executive Assistant by calling the church office.
