Fill The Pantry – May Food Drive

The Fairview Heights Food Pantry continues to need our help to get them restocked for the Summer months as children are out of school and others are in need in the community, so let’s Fill The Pantry this May!

Please bring your non-perishable food items, canned or bottled goods, and basic supplies to all worship services at the FH Campus in May or to the church office during office hours.

Donation Suggestions:

Canned meats (chicken, fish, etc) beans, peanut butter, dry or evaporated milk, infant formula, puddings, jello, canned fruits and vegetables, jellies, soups, sauces, pasta, juices, boxed or packaged noodles, rice, cereals, crackers, flour, helpers, cake or pancake mixes, cooking oils, dressings, syrups, sugar, mayo, mustard, ketchup, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, hand & body soaps, shampoo, laundry & dish soaps, male and female hygiene products.

Monetary donations can be made out to: “Fairview Heights Food Pantry” and dropped off at the Church Office or at the FH Campus Welcome Center during worship services.

One can. One box. One case. It all matters.

Vacation Bible School

Make Waves VBS at the Christ Church Fairview Heights Campus.

Bring your children to join us as we explore the ripple effects of putting our trust in Jesus! Make Waves VBS will be a fun and engaging 3 evenings full of worship, games, lessons, and activities designed to help kids understand how they can share God’s love with the people around them.
Kids will leave knowing that what they do today can change the world around them!

Makes Waves VBS is for kids aged 4 years -incoming 6th graders.

June 7-9 from 6-8pm

Cost is $10 per child; Maximum $20 per family.

Faith and Friendship 2022 Spring Session

Ladies, you are invited to get together with women of all ages for encouragement, prayer, friendship, and faith conversations based on Scripture.

Groups meet every week on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. Our Spring Session starts 04/19/22 and goes until 06/29/22. We will have brunch every 4th Wednesday. We will also have an Art Workshop Day every 5th Wednesday.

Do you struggle in knowing how to pray for the children and/or grandchildren in your life?  Join us for this study in building a strong foundation in prayer.  We will focus on essential prayer for praying for children–from little ones through teenagers.

Option E: Book Study

Book Title: IN HIS IMAGE, by Jen Wilken

This study helps us answer the question “What is God’s Will for me?”
Together, we will explore ten characteristics of who God is–holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise.  These characteristics will lead us to the answer. 

Led by: Linda Duncan
Preparation is required. One chapter weekly with Scriptures and questions for reflection. Book purchase required.


Option F: Spiritual Disciplines

Study Title: Disciplines of a Godly Woman by Barbara Hughes

Study of spiritual disciplines as outlined in the Bible. Prayer, worship, contentment, sabbath, marriage, and more.

Group size is limited in order to encourage in-depth discussion.


Option I: Sisters in Christ

Mentor/mentee will meet in person at Christ Church on the 4th Wednesday of each month (between 10:00 – 12:00) for one-on-one time at church, or attend Brunch with Faith & Friendship Connect Group, and/or on the 5th Wednesday attend Art Workshop Day.  Childcare and school-age class–> if space is available. Children must be registered online. 

CHILDCARE OPTIONS ON WEDNESDAYS

Childcare is available during our Wednesday sessions for infants 6 weeks through preschoolers up to 5 years old from 9:45am to 12:15pm. Parents must stay on campus and register weekly.

6 weeks- 5 years old
Parents must stay on campus and must register their child.

Kindergarten – 6th grade
2 ½ hours of fun learning about the Bible, life skills, art, science, games, character building story and skit/improv, and indoor/outdoor active time. Parents should provide water bottle & nut-free snack for their child. Parent must register their child for this group.


Creation Clubhouse Story Hour

Creation Clubhouse Story Hour is for preschoolers and a parent or grandparent every Thursday from 10am-11am in Creation Clubhouse at Christ Church FH Campus starting Thursday, September 9. Throughout the hour we will explore a story with Bible truths that relates to a monthly theme.  We will learn a memory verse, worship, and reflect on our story through a craft.

This is a free event that is limited to 15 children each week.

YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CHILD EACH WEEK. 

Christ Church Golf Tournament

Christ Church Golf Tournament, Sponsored by the Men and Women of Christ Church, at Cardinal Creek Golf Course (at Scott AFB).  

Join the Christ Church Men & Women for their annual Golf Tournament at Cardinal Creek Golf Course at Scott AFB.  Come out and enjoy a round of golf with Rev. Shane.  

Saturday, July 16, 2022.  Shotgun start at 8:00am.  Four-person scramble with door prizes, raffle drawings, longest drive, and closest to the pin.  

The cost is $75 per player which includes holes, cart, and lunch.  Register by May 1st and save $5.

Gathering 139 Sign Up

Gathering 139 is our process for Infant and Child Baptisms/Presentations for children birth to 6 years old. Gathering 139 is derived from Psalms 139, “I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

The Gathering 139 process starts with an online sign up form prior to the First Meeting (sessions are limited to 10 families). After you sign up your child, there is a mandatory information meeting that goes over Baptisms, Presentations, and the Gathering 139 process.
